I am Philip, the founder of Van der Wel – Legal Recruitment Group. As one of the few in the field, I do not have a legal background, but I make up for this with my enthusiasm for the industry. I am immensely intrigued by the legal world and have latched onto it.
After my business economics studies, I immediately entered the world of recruitment. As an economist I know better than anyone how to bring supply and demand together. Of course, I use my curiosity and the urge to help people, in a broad sense, to make a step forward. I am solution-oriented and often look beyond the beaten path, which can sometimes result in non-obvious but very appropriate solutions. To achieve this, I find personal contact important. I am a sparring partner with an open approach and an objective way of working. In this way I ensure that both clients and candidates are truly satisfied.

My passion for law arose from my inner circle of family and friends. I am particularly interested in the legal profession, an inspiring industry full of surprising dynamics. In addition, I have a fascination for people and their ability in teamwork, partly from my sports background.
Both recruitment and law have been fundamental aspects of my work experience as Growth Manager. I developed a deep interest in both, which made me curious about new career opportunities. On the Legal Headhunting front, I am able to fully utilize my leadership skills and entrepreneurial ability, creating unforeseen opportunities for others.
The best part of my job is the personal interaction to get a better picture of the person behind a professional. Being able to convince someone of his/her own abilities gives me satisfaction. Sometimes I am a bit of a perfectionist, but at the same time I love creative out-of-the-box advice.
